Identification Bur eau Page 1 of 3 6 /04.0 (REV 1/07) Crime Scene Investigation Unit Daily Activity Report The purpose of this Order is to e stablish a uniform method for filling out the Crime Scene Investigation Unit Daily Activity Report. I. Definition The Crime Scene Investigation Un it Daily Activity Report (Form …CSILOG.DOC) of the Officer’s filed work assi gnments during the shift. The log serves to recall necessary information to be in cluded in reports written away fr om a crime scene, as a record fro recall of service s performed in case a report i s not available, and to compute statistics relating to the number of calls for servi ce and the amount of time each call takes to complet e. Daily Activity Reports are k ept a minimum of four (4) months in the Identification Bureau. II. Completion of the Daily Activity Report All requested information shall be completed on the Daily Activ ity Report, and the original report placed into the report tray in the Crime Scene Investigation Office by the end of the Officer’s shift. The Daily Activity Report shall be completed as follows: A. Total Calls: This should onl y be the number of calls in whi ch a report was required. B. Total # of Latent Calls: Thi s is the number of calls where latent fingerprint processing was requested during t he shift, including scenes whi ch were processed but where no lat ent fingerprints were found. C. Calls Where Latents Found: T his is the number of latent fin gerprint calls in which latent fingerprints wer e located during the shift. D. Total Number of Latents: Thi s is the number of latent finge rprints located during the shift. E. Photography Cases: This is the number of calls where photog raphs were requested during the shift. F. Evidence Cases: This is the number of calls where evidence was collected during the shift, incl uding the number of calls conta ining latent fingerprints and/or photography CD’s. Number of Items: This is t he number of evidence items colle cted during the shift, including the number o f evidence envelopes containin g latent fingerprints and/or photography CD’s. H. Priority Calls: This is the number of calls with a priority status of CSI1 or CSI2. I. Rancho Cordova: This is t he number of calls requested by th e City of Rancho Cordova. J. Vehicle #: This is the num ber of the vehicle assigned to th e Officer. K. Ending Miles: This is the m ileage of the assigned vehicle a t the end of the shift. L. Beginning Miles: This is the mileage of the assigned vehicl e at the beginning of the Officer’s shift. M. Shift: This is the designator o f the Officer’s shift, such as “Adam”, “Boy”, “Charles”, “David”, “Edward”, or “Frank”. N. Unit Number: This is the Of ficer’s assigned unit number, in cluding the shift designator, such as “ID10A” or “ID2S”. O. Officer #1 and Officer #2 and B adges: These are the names a nd badge numbers of the Officer’s a ssigned to the Unit Number. P. Vehicle Condition and Equipm ent Condition: This space shoul d include any damage to the vehicle, or in operative equipment, if applica ble. Q. Cellular Phone: This is Offi cer #1’s assigned cellular tele phone number. R. Day and Date: This is the cu rrent day and dat e at the begin ning of the Officer’s shift in mm/dd/yyyy fo rmat, (i.e. Monday 01/01/2007). S. Log On/Log Off: These are the times the Officer logged on t o and off of the CAD system. T. BOW # Calls Pending: This is the number of C.S.I. calls pen ding at the beginning of the Officer’s shift. This will be determined by r unning a pending summary of C.S.I. Ca lls on the CAD system. U. REC: This is the time the ca ll was entered into the CAD sys tem. This is found in a dispatched event by lo cating the “TOC”. This is not the time the Officer was dispatched on the call. V. 51/97/08: These are the time s the Officer went enroute (51) , arrived at (97), and left (08) a call, as received from the CAD system aft er the call has been cleared. Code Section A and B: These ar e the types of offense as rec orded on the Crime Scene Investigation Inform ation card left by the patrol o fficer. If no card is left, list the type of ca ll as it was listed in the dis patched event. X. City: This is the number a ssigned to the division or the in itials of the city requesting the call, such as “2” for Northeast Division or “RC” for the City of Rancho Cordova. Y.
