CORRECTIONAL SERVICES Page 1 of 2 5/09 (REV 7/07) MJ/RCCC OPERATIONS ORDER Weekenders The purpose of this Order is to standardize the processing of “ weekenders” at the Main Jail and at the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center (RCCC). I. Type of Commitment A. A weekender or temporary prisoner is any person who serves o ne or a series of weekly commitments, usually on a weekend. B. Prisoners who commit major violations of jail rules may have h i s / h e r j a i l time converted to straight time commitment, in addition to havi ng criminal charges filed against them, and bei ng subject to administrative disciplinary action. 1. A facility supervisor should be notified in this situation a nd an Incident Report Detail (PF- 10) should be completed. II. Reporting to Main Jail or RCCC and Booking A. Weekenders must provide their own transportation to and from the facility where he/she has been directed to report. B. The weekender may loose good time or be returned to court if he/she fails to report or is late unle ss he/she had prior approval. 1. If the weekender fails to report, he/she should be evaluated on an individual basis by a facility supervisor. C. At initial booking, males and females are required to report to the Front Counter at the Main Jail and to the Gatehouse at RCCC to confirm that the commitment order has been received from the court. 1. A person shall not be booked into the facility without commi tment orders. 2. At the Main Jail , front counter staff shall escort a prisoner to booking or have booking staff rece ive the prisoner at the front counter. CORRECTIONAL SERVICES Page 2 of 2 5/09 (REV 7/07) MJ/RCCC 3. At RCCC , after reporting to the Gatehouse, females shall be escorted directly to SLF and males will be escorted to booking. D. For purposes of the booking process, weekenders are booked a ccording to the standard booking procedures in accordance with existing booking, property, orientation, and classification orders; however an ar rest report and probable clause declarati on are typically not needed. 1. On subsequent weekends the w eekender’s Time Computation Card will be noted with the dates he/she enters and leaves, so a complete record of time served can be kept. 2. If a weekender is on medicati on which should be continued du ring incarceration, he/she should br ing the currently dated, properl y packaged and labeled pr escription to the facility so medical st aff may evaluate the medication. M edical staff shall determine the course of action with regard to the prisoner’s medical needs. III. Status Regulations A. Weekenders serving multiple weekends may be entitled to good /work time credit. B. Weekenders serving multiple weekends do not have a commissar y account. C. Weekenders serving multiple wee kends do not have social visi t privileges. D. Unless a medical, classification, or other status requires s pecific housing or separation, prisoners serving multiple weekends shall be hou sed in the most minimum securit y housing available. E. Weekenders who do not meet the grooming standards of the fac ility may be evaluated for suitability as k itchen workers or servers. F. Weekenders who do not meet the grooming standards will not l ose work time, where applicable, unless t here is a refusal to work.
