INSTRUCTOR SELECTION
The purpose of this order is to d escribe the procedure for sele cting instructors for the
division of Training and Reserve Forces. I. General
Most instructors are members of the Sacramento Sheriff’s Depart ment or
Sacramento alli ed agencies.
A. Instructors are selected from individuals who have expressed a desire to
teach by submitting a letter to the executive lieutenant with a résumé of
their qualifications defining ar eas of expertise and interest.
B. Instructors should be practi tioners in their subject matter.
C. No person shall be the primar y instructor in more than one m ajor block of
instruction. This will not pre clude an instructor of one major block of
instruction from assisting in another block of instruction. An example
would be a report writing instruct or assisting in patrol proced ures.
