Identification Bureau Page 1 of 1 5/01.0 (REV 1/07) Requests to Process Physical Evidence The purpose of this Order is to o utline the process of how evid ence is handled when brought to the Identification Bure au for processing by persons other than Identification Bureau Personnel. I. Requests A request for evidence processing must be made by completing th e appropriate form. A. Any person may submit an I dentification Bureau Request form, along with the item(s) to be processed, i n person to Bureau personnel. B. Any Sacramento County Sheri ff Department employee may submit a Property Receipt/Report (Form 7400-076A) and/or AFR packing lis t, along with the item(s) to be proce ssed, to Bureau personnel. This ma y be done in person, or by securing the form and item(s) at any Departmen t building equipped with secured evidence lockers. II. Results After the item(s) have been proce ssed, a report relating the ty pe of work requested, by whom and the resu lts will be completed. This rep ort will be placed, along with the Identification Bureau Request form if one is sub mitted, in the “New Reports” basket for the Identific ation Unit Supervisor to revie w. A. The processed item(s) will be placed into a secured evidence locker, or given to a Property Warehouse Offi cer, with a completed Propert y Receipt/Report (7400-076A) and/or A FR packing list, by the Iden tification Technician.
