EMERGENCY IMPLEMENTATION
The purpose of this order is to establish procedures to be foll owed in the event of an
emergency situation. I. General
A Range staff member will assess t he situation and take steps t o verify the extent
of immediate and potential danger to staff and/or Range inmates . Officers will be
used in any capacity necessary by the staff member to take cont rol of the
situation.
A. Communications will be aler ted and additional assistance wil l be
requested to respond or standby ( helicopter, delta units, Elk G rove Fire,
etc.), if necessary.
B. The RCCC watch commander and medical staff will be advised, as
appropriate.
C. Subsequent to an initial asse ssment of the situation, the st aff member will
advise the division of Training an d Reserve Forces executive li eutenant. If
the executive lieutenant is not a vailable, one of the following individuals
shall be notified:
1. Division of Training and Reserve Forces commander; or
2. Chief Deputy for Special Services.
D. New media inquiries will be directed to the Media Office. If the media
relations officer is not avail able, inquiries shall be directed to the
Communications sergeant.
E. An inter-department corresponde nce shall be completed as soo n as
practical and forwarded to the di vision of Training and Reserve Forces
executive lieutenant explaining the details of the emergency si tuation and
what actions were taken.
