Acquisition and/or Issuance of D epartmental Uniform Badges
The purpose of this General Order i s to prescribe the procedure involving the
acquisition and/or issuance of departmental uniform badges. I. Policy Statement
All transactions involving the ac quisition and/or issuance of t he departmental uniform
badges shall be accomplished through the Fiscal Affairs section of the Administrative
Division. II. Departmental uniform badges sha ll be provided by the County of Sacramento to
all regular sworn personnel.
III. Personnel who are promoted/demoted shal l contact Fiscal Af fairs for the purpose
of making an appropriate exchan ge of badges. If the officer wa nts to keep their
“old” badge, they may purchase it with the concurrence of the A dministrative
Division commander. The price shall be the cost of the replace ment badge, and
shall be paid before the new badge is issued. The officer shal l fill out and sign
the safety equipment form at t he time the exchange/purchase is made.
IV. Personnel owning their own badge and who wish to sell it to the County because
of retirement, promotion, demoti on or termination of employment , may make
arrangements through Fiscal Affairs.
