Detective Division Page 1 of 1 3/08.0 (REV 1/90) CONCEALED WEAPON PERMITS, BADGES AND IDENTIFICATION The purpose of this order is to establish policies and procedur es relative to the confiscation of concealed weapon permits, badges, and identific ation at the time a prisoner is booked into the Sacramento County jail. I. Sacramento County A. All Sacramento Count y Sheriff’s identif ication, badges, or c oncealed weapon permits found in the possessi on of an arrestee are to be confiscated by jail personnel a t the time of book ing. These ite ms are to be delivered to the commander of the Staff Services Division. The arresting officer shall confiscate any fi rearm in the possession of the a rrestee and book it for safekeeping. B. Final disposition as to the lo ss of privileges in carrying a badge, identification, or concealed weapon permit will be determined b y the Sheriff upon recommendation by the Special Investigations Burea u. II. Allied Law Enforcement Agencies A. Identification, badges, or c oncealed weapon permits issued b y other law enforcement agencies will not be c onfiscated. Firearms in the p ossession of the arrestee shall be booked for safekeeping. A copy of the arrest report noting the items in possession of the arrestee will be forwarde d to the commander of the Staff Services Division. The Staff Services co mmander will forward a copy of the a rrest report to the issuing agency.
