Equipment - Supervisors' Vehicles
The purpose of this order is to ensure that the emergency equip ment in the supervisors'
vehicles is maintained and avail able in the field at all times.
I. General
A. Equipment in supervisors' vehi cles is for emergency use only and will not
be issued on a routine basis.
B. Supervisors' vehicles will no t be loaned to other divisions without the
permission of the watch commander . Vehicles loaned to other di visions
are subject to the following conditions:
1. Watch commanders will ensure that the emergency equipment
checklist is completed prio r to the vehicle being loaned.
2. Upon return of the vehicle , the emergency equipment checklis t will
be verified to determine if all the equipment has been returned .
II. Equipment Inventory
A. Equipment room personnel will inventory the equipment at lea st once a
month, noting discrepanc ies on the checklist.
B. The emergency equipment check list is maintained on the lid o f the
equipment box in the vehicle's trunk.
C. The box containing the emergen cy equipment is secured with a wire seal.
If this seal is not intact, the box should be inventoried.
D. The equipment room will mainta in a file by vehicle number fo r two months,
which lists the inventor ies in the vehicles.

A. Day shift equipment room officers are responsible for resupp lying the
vehicle and making sure that the vehicle is not returned to ser vice unless
properly supplied.
B. Vehicle users are responsib le for notifying equipment room p ersonnel of
any expendable uses during the sh ift or of equipment deficienci es.
C. Unexplained use or loss of equipment will be reported to the division
executive lieutenant for action.
