Corrections, Work Release 3/02.0 (Rev 1/01) Credit for Time Served Purpose of Order The purpose of this Order is to align Division policy with the mandates of section 2900.5 of the California Pe nal Code with regard to gran ting partici pants credit for time served. General Every sentenced inmate will be giv en credit for all pre-sentenc ed time served arisin g out of the char ges for which the inmate was convicted. Time computations The booking staff will do time computations for Work Release pa rticipants. Necessary information The information necessary to compute the previously served time may be obtained from the following sources:  Prisoner history card  Probation report  Main Jail records section Conflicts If the above sources conflict in a ny way relative to the amount of time credited, or if the officer has doubts as to the validity of th e information, contact the sentencin g court for the correct data. Exception Federal prisoners release dates are established by the U.S. Mar shal or the sentencin g court.
