Training Page 1 of 1 2/17.0 (3/01) VIDEO TAPES OF CLASSES The purpose of this order is to e stablish guidelines for the us e of video tapes of classes. I. General A. Not all classes may be video taped due to the sensitive natu re of the material presented in some sessions. B. A determination will be made by the academy di rector with in put from instructors on which classes ma y be taped using the criteria of confidentiality of subject matte r and/or the instructor’s desir e regarding the taping. II. Borrowing Tapes A. Any recruit who wishes to bo rrow a tape of a class may do so . However, video equipment itself may not b e loaned. The following rules w ill govern the use of these tapes: 1. Any tape borrowed must be re turned the first class day follo wing the day it was borrowed. 2. Tapes will be issued on a first come, first served basis exc ept that a study group will have priority ove r an individual requesting a particular tape. 3. Tapes will be used only for in structional purposes and will not be shown for any other reason. Any violation will preclude further borrowing and may be cause for disciplinary action. 4. Tapes will be signed out by the borrower and signed back in by one of the staff officers. 5. Every effort must be made to safeguard these tapes and to re turn them when scheduled since each t ape is considered an original.
