Call Records for a prior fingerprint number or any outstandi ng warrants. 3. Use the prior fingerprint num ber, if available. If not, a ne w number will be issued by Records personnel. Take a photograph and one set of fingerpr ints. 4. Advise the applicant that a f ee must accompany the fingerpri nt card to the Department of Justice. This fee may be paid in the form of a ch eck or a money order. 5. If the applicant has no prior arrest record with this depart ment, give the paperwork to the applicant and direct him/her to Special Invest igations for an interview. Note : If the applicant has a prior a rrest record with this departm ent, obtain the personal history folder from Rec ords and escort the applicant t o Special Investigations for further processing. 6. When the applicant returns to t he ID Section after processin g through Special Investigations, initial and type a 3” x 5” index card for the R ecords master index file. Complete the fingerprint c ard and forward it to the Depar tment of Justice along with the required fee. 7. Indicate the date of mailing to DOJ on the bottom of the ID information sheet. 8. Place the information sheet i n the DOJ return pending basket . 9. When the information comes back from DOJ, attach it to the i nitial paperwork and place it in the Business Lic ense pending basket for review.
