Facility Maintenance
The purpose of this Order is to outline the procedures to be fo llowed when
maintenance is needed at any Secur ity Services Bureau contracte d facility.
I. General
Security Services Bureau employ ees are charged with the respons ibility to
provide a safe and secure envir onment for employees and members of
the public who work and visit at any facility where we provide contracted
security services. Security Services Bureau employees have the
responsibility to inspect, report, and monitor all maintenance issues that
are discovered or brought to the Security Services Bureau emplo yee’s
attention.
II. Procedure
Upon discovery of a m aintenance issue or damage to a ny Security
Services Bureau contracted build ing, the following procedures s hall be
followed:
A. Security Services Bureau empl oyees shall attempt to determin e
how the maintenance issue and/ or damage occurred. The
employee shall determine if the maintenance issue was due to
normal wear and tear , an unusual event, neg ligence or criminal
conduct.
B. If the maintenance issue and/or damage creates a safety haza rd,
officers shall take necessary s teps to protect employees and th e
public by securing the affected ar ea, evacuating the affected a rea,
if necessary, immediately notif ying the appropriate facility ma nager,
and notifying a Security Services Bureau supervisor as soon as
possible.
C. Security Services Bureau empl oyees shall complete Sacramento
County Maintenance Request Form. A copy of this form shall be
forwarded to the appropriate fac ility manager, a Security Servi ces
Bureau supervisor and the A ssistant Commander. If a facility
manager requires an additional fo rm to facilitate a repair, Sec urity
Services Bureau employees shall complete the facility manager
form in addition to Sacrament o County Maintenance Request

Form. Both forms shall be fo rwarded in the same method
described in this paragraph.
D. Each Security Services Bur eau post shall maintain a maintena nce
log book in addition to any ot her log books required. All requ ests
for maintenance shall be logged in the Maintenance Log Book.
II. Follow Up to the Request Form
If a maintenance request has not been addressed after a period of two (2)
weeks from the date the request fo rm was submitted, Security Se rvices
Bureau employees shall notify the Security Services Bureau Assi stant
Commander.
