Communications Page 1 of 1 2/05.0 (REV 10/93) RADIO CALL NUMBER ASSIGNMENTS/LOGS The purpose of this order is to provide a uniform policy for th e assignment of employee radio call numbers and the main tenance of a radio call number l og for Communications Center personnel. I. Policy Federal Communications Commissi ons regulations r equire every pe rson who uses an official licensed radio frequency to be assigned and to use a radio call number. The Communications Cente r commander shall ensure that a ll Communications personnel are assi gned appropriate radio call nu mbers and that up-to-date lists are maintained. II. Assignment of Communications Center Radio Call Numbers A. The administrative sergeant s hall be responsible for the ass ignment of radio call numbers for Communi cations personnel. Once a radio c all number has been assigned, it shall re main in effect until the p osition is vacated. Personnel shall be assi gned radio call numbers by job classification. The following r adio numbers shall be assigned t o the job classifications as indicated: 1. Communications Center commander: 2. Communications sergeant: 805 - 811 3. Communications dispatchers: 840 - 869 4. Sheriff’s Service Repr esentatives: CM01 – CM49
