Good Neighbor Policy
This Order is to establish a G ood Neighbor Policy relating to a ll facilities where
the Security Services Bureau provides security personnel.
I. General
It is the intent of the Bureau to provide protection to the sur rounding
community and businesses from any negative impact of normal fac ility
operations where we provide secu rity services. In addition, th e Bureau
personnel shall provide protecti on to clients and employees eng aged in
normal facility operations from harassment, threat, or any othe r criminal
activity occurring on or near the facility property .
II. Procedure
It is SSB policy that personnel a ssigned to SSB facilities adhe re to the
good neighbor policy that consists of the following components. SSB
personnel will:
A. Assist the surrounding community with any concerns related t o
nuisance or criminal activity by clients or employees of the
facility.
B. Protect clients and employees of the facility from criminal
activity occurring on or near the facility.
C. Report criminal activity not d irectly related to the facilit y, clients,
or employees to the local law enforcement agency.
D. Protect any person on or near the facility from injury or de ath
resulting from any criminal activity.
