Impact Division Page 1 of 2 2/04 (REV 1/18) OPERATIONS ORDER County Undercover Vehicle Care and Usage – Impact Division The purpose of this order is to e stablish guidelines for mainte nance, care, monthly mileage reporting, fueling, enfor cement action in undercover ve hicles, and the use of Voyager Gas Cards. I. Frequency A. Monthly Vehicle Mileage repor ts to fleet services will be co mpiled and submitted by the 1st of each month. Vehicles will be turned in for service in accordance with Sacram ento County Automotive Services Guideline s. II. Distribution Deadlines A. Vehicle mileage r eports will be compiled and turned in to th e division equipment officer prior to the 1st of each month. Vehicl es due for routine service will be turned into Autom otive Services as soon as prac tical for scheduled maintenance in accor dance with set guidelines. III. Use and Care A. Each person assigned a County Vehicle will be responsible fo r its cleanliness and care. The interior and exterior of the vehicle should be kept clean and in good repair. A ny damage should be reported an d arrangements should be made to mak e repairs as soon as possible . Guidelines are set forth for ma intenance, fueling, and repair o f County Vehicles in the Automotive Div ision Guide Book. Vehicles utili zed exclusively and solely for underco ver operations such as, the p urchasing and selling of narcotics, shall not use the County gas pumps or utilize inmate work crews to clean the vehicles. IV. County Issued Voyager Card A. Each person assigned a vehicl e will also be assigned a Voyag er gas card. The fixed County fue ling points should alwa ys be used before th e Voyager Card. The Voyager Card is desig ned to allow emergency fueling o r fueling when out of the County during t he performance of assigned dutie s. Sheriff’s Department General or der 6/06 sets forth guidelines f or the proper use of Voyager Credit Cards. Impact Division Page 2 of 2 2/04 (REV 1/18) V. Enforcement Action in Unmarked Vehicles A. Due care and caution should be used at all times when operat ing UN- marked Law-Enforcement vehicles during Enforcement Actions. She riff’s Department General Order 6/01, 6/ 02, 6/02.2, 6/02.3 and 6/04 se ts forth guidelines for proper u se and operation of Sheriff’s Department Vehicles. These orders shall be follo wed at all times.
