CIVIL DIVISION – CIVIL PROCEDURES
I. Processing
The purpose of this Operations Or der is to describe the civil process procedure
and other duties performed by personnel of the Sheriff’s Civil Division.
II. Civil Process and Procedures
Civil Division pers onnel shall follow the procedures outlined in the latest edition of
the California State S heriff’s Association Civil Procedural Ma nual unless
otherwise superceded by a more s pecific directive or order fro m a civil
supervisor.
III. Clerical
The clerical personnel shall comp ly with departmental and divi sional directives
and procedures when acco mplishing their duties.
IV. Field Operations
The field deputies and process servers shall comply with depar tmental
procedures, divisional direct ives and standard patrol practice s when operating in
the field and accomplishing thei r civil duties or when involv ed in criminal
enforcement action.
