Applicant Counter/Livescan
The purpose of this Order is to d escribe the Applicant Counter/ Livescan location, and
the responsibilities of the location. I. Unit Description
The Applicant Livescan locations primary function is to confirm the identity of the
applicant, verify all necessary information, collect quality fi ngerprints from the
applicant on live scan equipment and collect the necessary fee required for the
applicant pursuant to Education Code section 45125, Vehicle cod e section
12523.6, and Education c ode section 44332.6.
II. Chain of Command
The Applicant Livescan locations shall fall under the supervisi on of the Livescan
Supervisor assigned to the Identification Bureau.
III. Availability
The Applicant Livescan locations will be open from 9:00 AM to 4 :00 PM,
weekdays, Monday through Friday, c losing on weekends and Sacram ento
County recognized holidays.
IV. Responsibilities
A. The Applicant Livescan locati ons will confirm that all of th e necessary
information is completed accura tely by the agency requiring liv escan
fingerprints on the Live Scan Form provided by that agency to t he
applicant.

B. The Applicant Livescan locati ons will confirm the identity o f the individual
requesting to have livescan finger prints completed using a vali d
photographed ident ification.
1. Accepted – Valid California or out of state drivers license or photo
identification card, passport, o r green card. See drop down li st in
Livescan machine for additional forms of acceptable identificat ion.
For juveniles a photo school ident ification and birth certifica te is
accepted.

License, Foreign Identificati on Card and any expired drivers
licenses or identification cards.
C. The Applicant Livescan locati ons will be available to collec t quality
fingerprints using the automated livescan unit for those indivi duals
required according to Educatio n Code section 45125, Vehicle Cod e
section 12523.6, and Educat ion Code section 44332.6.
D. The Applicant Livescan locati ons will collect the necessary funds, or refer
for billing the required amount necessary for the processing an d collection
of Livescan fingerprints.
E. The Applicant Livescan locati ons will maintain the Livescan Data Base for
any necessary billings, account research and statistical inform ation
required.
F. The Applicant Livescan locati ons will maintain eighteen (18) months of
secured paperwork and receipts for all credit card transactions as required
by Visa and Master Card Rules a nd Regulations as referenced in the
Merchant Operations Guide.
IV. Maintenance
A. The Applicant Livescan locati ons will maintain a clean worki ng
environment. Any equipment shoul d be treated with respect and properly
maintained. In the event of equi pment malfunction, contact the Supervisor
of the Applicant Livescan Counter for necessary contact with te chnicians.
B. The Applicant Livescan locati ons will maintain the proper am ount of
supplies for the Applicant Livescan Counter.
