Business License Counter/711 ‘G’ Street
The purpose of this Order is to d escribe the Business License C ounter/711 ‘G’ Street
position, and the responsib ilities of the location.
I. Unit Description:
The Business License Counter is located at the Main Office of t he Sheriff’s
Department, 711 ‘G’ Street. The Bu siness License Counter’s pri mary function is
to process Business License Appl icants, distribute Sheriff’s De partment
Identification/Proxim ity Cards and Register Drug, Arson and Gan g Registrants
that reside in the County of Sa cramento and process individuals that clear
warrants and citations.
II. Chain of Command
The Business License Counter at the Main Office shall fall unde r the supervision
of the Live Scan Supervisor a ssigned to the Identification Bure au.
III. Availability
The Business License Counter will be open to Sheriff’s Departme ntal Personnel
from 0800 to 0930 hours, weekda ys Monday through Friday, by app ointment for
Identification/Proxim ity Cards. The Business License Counter i s open to the
Public from 1000 to 1600 hours, w eekdays Monday through Friday, closing on all
Sacramento County holidays.
IV. Responsibilities
A. The Business License Counter will be available to process th e applicants
for Special Business Licenses, H ealth & Safety Registrants, Ars on
Registrants, Gang Registrants, c leared warrants and cleared cit ations,
and issue Sheriff’s Personnel and miscellaneous employees of th e
Sacramento County, and outside agencies, Ident ification/Proximi ty Cards.
B. The Business License Counter will check and confirm the iden tity,
background, all appropriate form s and pertinent information for each
applicant, registrant, warrant and citation.
1. Special Business Li cense (All) – receip t with Special Busine ss
License Number and a complet ed Request for Live Scan Service
Form BCII 8016 with a valid photo i dentification to include a
Identification Bur eau Page 2 of 3 2/ 01.1 (NEW 1/07) California Driver’s License or Identification Card, passport or Green
Card. Out of state or foreign driv er’s license or identificati on cards
are not accepted.
2. Special Business License (Ma ssage) – receipt with Special
Business License number, Massa ge Certificate with hours of
completion and a completed Req uest for Live Scan Service Form
BCII 8016 with a valid photo identification to include a Califo rnia
Driver’s License or I dentification Card, Passport or Green Card .
Not accepted are out of state or foreign driver’s license or
identification cards.
3. Registrant (Narcotic or Gant) – completed Registration Progr am
Form number SS-8102. Valid photo identification or Driver’s
license preferred but not required.
4. Registrant (Arson) – complet ed Registration Program Form num ber
SS-8102A. Valid photo identificat ion or driver’s license prefe rred,
but not required.
5. Warrant – completed Registry Detail Report from Warrants
Division. Valid photo identificat ion or driver’s license prefe rred, but
not required.
6. Citation – Original citati on issued has to be presented with a valid
photo identification to include a California Driver’s License o r
Identification card, Passport o r Green Card. Not accepted are out
of state or foreign driver’s license or identification cards.
7. Identification or Proximity C ards – completed Sacramento Cou nty
Sheriff’s Department Employee St atus/History Form 7400-128 and
a Sacramento County S heriff’s Department Adm inistrative Divisio n
Building Security Badge/ID Card Request Form complete with an
authorized signature.
C. The Business License Counter will collect any necessary fing erprints,
palm prints, photographs and/or fees necessary.
D. The Business License Counter will route the necessary forms, information
and fees to the proper location fo r completion of necessary bac kgrounds
or registrations.
E. The Business License Counter will issue the appropriate rece ipt of proof of
registration as required.
F. The Business License Counter will maintain eighteen (18) mon ths of
secured paperwork and receipts for all credit card transactions as required
by Visa and Master Card Rules a nd Regulations as referenced in the
Merchant Operations Guide.

A. The Business License Counter will maintain a clean working e nvironment.
Any equipment should be treated wit h respect and properly maint ained. In
the event of equipment malfuncti on contact the Supervisor of th e Public
County for necessary contact with technicians.
B. The Business License Counter will maintain the necessary sup 0plies for
daily processing, identification ve rification and for office us e.
