Training Page 1 of 2 1/13.0 (REV 3/91) OPERATING GUIDELINES The purpose of this order is to establish operating guidelines not detailed elsewhere in the Operations Orders of the Divis ion of Training and Reserve F orces. I. General Training staff members are expe cted to conduct themselves in a competent and professional manner at all times. A. Training staff members are to serve as examples of professio nalism to all students. B. Staff members are responsible for knowing their work schedul es and adhering to them. C. Staff members shall wear the attire that is appropriate to t heir duties for the day as described in the Divis ion of Training and Reserve Fo rces Operations Order 2/01.0 (3/91). D. Staff members shall not com e to work under the influence of alcohol or medication. E. Staff members shall not leave their primary duty station wit hout advising their immediate supervisor or o ther staff member of their desti nation and expected return time. II. Specific A. All training staff members s hall be aware of the policies an d regulations contained in department General O rders, Operations Orders of th e Division of Training and Reserv e Forces, and published division policy. Ignorance of the regulations and policies contained therein is no excuse for violation. B. The following guidelin es will be followed by staff members w hen contact with inmates at the main training site or the Range is necessar y as part of daily duties: Training Page 2 of 2 1/13.0 (REV 3/91) 1. No staff member shall use thei r official position to adminis ter punishment or bestow preferentia l treatment to any inmate. 2. Staff members shall not initi ate, establish, or maintain any social, personal, or business relationshi p with any inmate assigned to the main training site or the Range from the Work Release Facility, Weekender Work Project, or RCCC. 3. If a staff member determines that a presently assigned inmat e is, or has been, the subject of a social , business, or personal relati onship with a staff member, he/ she shall immediately notify the divisi on commander, in writing. Such information may be deemed confidential at the reques t of the staff member. C. All staff members are respons ible for reporting any unsafe c onditions to the facilities maintenance office r for correction or referral t o the appropriate County agency. D. All staff members are responsib le for securing work areas at the close of their day. 1. At the close of the training day, the last staff member to l eave the main training site is responsib le for securing all buildings; s etting the appropriate alarms; setting thermostats at the recommended level consistent with current po licy; ensuring all flags are re moved from flagpoles (properly folded and stored); and locking the ma in gate upon departure. 2. At the close of the traini ng day, Range staff is responsible for securing the main building, the ammunition storage building, an d all outbuildings contained within the Range complex. All flags will be removed from flagpoles and proper ly folded and stored. All alar ms will be set and the main gat e locked upon departure.
