Training Page 1 of 1 1/08.0 (REV 3/91) DEPARTMENT SAFETY COMMITTEE The purpose of this order is to describe the procedure for oper ation of the department Safety Committee (referenc e General Order 13/01.0). I. General The executive lieutenant of the Division of Training and Reserv e Forces serves as the department safety office r and chairman of the department Safety Committee. The committee is co-c haired by the administrative st aff supervisor. II. Meetings A. Safety Committee meetings are held each month to discuss saf ety issues, working conditions, and unsafe pr actices and/or hazards through out the department. B. The meetings also are held to review and, if necessary, furt her investigate on-the-job injuries o f department personnel. C. The administrative superviso r prepares a summary of all acci dents and injuries for the period between committee meetings. This monthl y summary is reviewed at each meeting. D. The division secretary functi ons as the recorder at meetings and prepares the minutes. E. The executive lieut enant directs the minutes of each meeting including all recommendations of the committee to the Sheriff for his review and comment. F. All records of committee mi nutes, vehicle accidents, and inj uries are maintained within the Division o f Training and Reserve Forces b y the administrative staff supervisor.
