1/07 (rev. 08/03) CIVIL DIVISION – ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN The purpose of this Operation Orde rs is to outline the duties a nd responsibilities of the Sheriff’s Civil Division Accounting Technician. I. General The Accounting Technician superv ises the accounting section of the Civil Division. II. Chain of Command The Accounting Technician repor ts directly to the Civil Divisi on Records Manager. He/she reports informati on as directed by the Records Manager along `with any other necessary o r important information. III. Technical Duties In addition to the duties associ ated with the job classificati on, the Accounting Technician is responsible for t he following tec hnical duties:  Monthly reconciliation of the bank statement  Balances the following at end of the period: Civil Trust Fund Tucker Fund Automated Fund Charges and copy fees  Tracks and returns any unclaim ed funds to the county treasurer s office  Contacts problem employers regarding wage garnishments  Prepares the monthly division s tatistics which include deputy activity, process server activity and division financial activity  Researches and interprets: Codes Policies Procedures Court orders IV. Supervisory Duties  Verifies financial balances prepared by the account clerks  Supervises the account clerks  Provides training on procedural changes  Approves financial disbursement s of $5,000.00 to $9,999.99 mor e from the Civil Trust Fund
