Security Services Page 1 of 1 01/07 (REV 01/06) Release of Reports to Client Agencies The purpose of this Order is to outline the procedures followed when releasing a Sacramento County Sheriff’s D epartment report and /or other off icial document to client agencies contracting with the Security Services Bureau. I. General Per Government Code 6254 and Gener al Order 7/01, the Security Services Bureau will release repo rts and/or other official docu ments to client agencies only after the report or other document is comp leted, approved by a supervisor, is in a ccordance with department poli cy, and the release is authorized by the Security Services Bureau Comma nder. II. Procedure The following procedure applies to releasing official reports a nd/or other documents to personnel of client agencies: A. After a request is received fr om an employee of a contract a gency, the officer receiving the reques t will log the request in the f acility log book and immediately forward this request to a supervisor. B. The supervisor will determi ne if the report or document qual ifies to be released under this Order and/or Department policy. C. The supervisor will obtain t he report and/or other document according to Department policy and forward the request to the Bureau Commander for authorization. D. If the release is authoriz ed, the Supervisor will deliver th e document to the requesting party. E. The supervisor will ensure the delivery is logged in the app ropriate facility log book.
