Field Services Page 1 of 1 01/00 (REV 1/04) Assistant Division Commander The purpose of this order is to outline the duties and responsi bilities of a Field Services Assistant Division Commander. I. General A Field Services Assistant Div ision Commander is a lieutenant a ssigned to a Field Services Division. The Assistant Division Commander is the second in command and assists the Division Commander with the management and direction of law enforcement a ctivities in the assigned divisio nal area. II. Responsibilities The Assistant Commander formulates special orders, acts as liai son for superior officers internally and exter nally, coordinates staff and line functions, maintains equipment and inventory control of the division, assists the Di vision Budget Coordinator with budge t preparation, and performs other duties as assigned by the Division Commander. In the abs ence of the Division Command er, the Assistant Commander is the acting Division Commander.
