Training Page 1 of 2 1/03.0 (REV 3/91) ADMINISTRATIVE SERGEANT/R ESERVE FORCES COORDINATOR The purpose of this order is to describe the duties and respons ibilities of the Administrative Sergeant/Reserve Forces Coordinator of the divis ion of Training and Reserve Forces. I. Administrative Sergeant The administrative sergeant/res erve forces coordinator works u nder the direct supervision of the executive lieutenant of the division of Tra ining and Reserve Forces. Specific duties and re sponsibilities include the follo wing: A. Supervises and evaluates the st aff of the in-service trainin g unit to include: 1. POST in-service training coordinator. 2. STC in-service training coordinator. 3. Supervisory, management, non-sworn in-service training coordinator. B. Maintenance of department al training records. 1. POST and STC approved courses. 2. Formal education of employees for pay purposes. 3. Civilian employee training records. C. Department Safety Commi ttee co-chairperson. 1. Serve as chairperson in the absence of the executive lieuten ant. 2. Review departmental casual ty/accident reports for other safety/work hazard considerations. 3. In unison with other committ ee members, make recommendations for corrections of officer safe ty/work hazard conditions when appropriate. 4. Maintain department a ccident/hazard records. Training Page 2 of 2 1/03.0 (REV 3/91) D. Department Training Manager C ommittee co-chairperson. 1. Serve as chairperson in the absence of the executive lieuten ant. 2. Coordinate department traini ng needs with divisional trainin g managers. 3. Consultant for specific train ing needs designated by divisio nal training managers. 4. Direct training coordinators i n design and im plementation of training programs. II. Reserve Forces Coordinator A. Provide overall direction and administration of the Reserve Forces. 1. Investigate all complaints against reserve officers. 2. Initiate any needed discipli nary actions regarding reserve personnel. B. Serve as the coordinator for all oral boards during the exam ination process for reserve deputy applicants. C. Coordinate all requests for rese rve officer assistance and r ecommend potential uses of reserve forces to the division commander. D. Prepare annual budget request for Reserve Forces. E. Establish and maintain pers onnel systems which meet legal an d operating requirements relative to reserve officer training, evaluation, and status. F. Establish and maintain property records which reflect the st atus of equipment issued by the department to each reserve officer. G. Monitor the reserve deputy tr aining program t o ensure all sw orn reserve officers maintain required trai ning in accordance with legal re quirements. H. Perform as commander of Reser ve Forces in the absence of the division commander.
