1. PURPOSE:
The purpose of this directive is to ensure the proper management and control of all
property in the custody of the Plantation Police Department. This directive will provide
guidelines to Property/Evidence Unit personnel on the custody, storage, and disposition
of property/evidence. All personnel assigned to this Unit shall adhere to these
guidelines and comply with applicable Florida Statutes, federal law, and administrative
regulations to ensure proper maintenance of all property/evidence.
Note: Property/Evidence Unit hereinafter referred to as the Property Unit.
