This Order establishes guidelines to ensure continuity and consistency within PBSO where evidence or property is collected, stored, and subsequently disposed of. It is the policy of the Sheriff of Palm Beach County to maintain evidence and seized or recovered property in accordance with Federal, State, and Local Statutes and Court decisions, and to return such property to its rightful owner in a timely manner. This Order applies to all personnel. DEFINITIONS: DIESEL FUEL - A heavy mineral oil used as fuel in diesel engines. EVIDENCE TECHNICIAN - The Evidence Technician shall be responsible for management and control of evidence and/or property received into Evidence. GASOLINE — A volatile flammable liquid hydrocarbon mixture used as a fuel especially for internal combustion engines and usually blended from several products of natural gas and petroleum. RED DIESEL FUEL ~ Diesel fuel that is colored red to identify it as non-taxed fuel. It is also known as ag/farm diesel or off road diesel. PROCEDURES:
