ORANGE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE SPECIAL ORDER Effective Date: May 25, 2023  Amends - SO 116.0 ( January 12, 2015 ) Number: 116.0 Distribution: UPD Sector V Review Month: March Reviewing Authority: UPD / Sector V / TOPS Subject: FitDeputy Program This order consists of the following: 1. Purpose 2. Definitions 3. Procedures 1. Purpose The purpose of this special order is to establish guidelines for the FitDeputy Program. The FitDeputy Program is a wellness initiative to encourage and assist employees in developing their emotional and physical health. By investing in its employees, the agency reduces risk of injury, promotes productivity, and decreases costs associated with absenteeism and health care coverage. The agency works in cooperation with community partners to meet these goals. 2. Definitions A. Authorized Facility - physical fitness facilities offered at no cost to eligible agency members and recognized on the FitDeputy.com web site. B. Eligible Employee - agency members, sworn or non -sworn, assigned to Uniform Patrol Division Sector V. C. FitDeputy Program Administrator - Rosen Hotels and Resorts Intellectual Technology Department. D. OCSO Program Administrator - Uniform Patrol Division Sector V Section Commander, or designee, in consultation with Human Resources. 3. Procedures A. Local hotels and other businesses sponsor the FitDeputy Program, which supports law enforcement by allowing e ligible employees to use designated fitness facilities at no cost. B. Program Administration 1. The OCSO Program Administrator shall provide an updat ed UPD Sector V roster to the FitDeputy Program Administrator as needed. 2. The FitDeputy Program Administrat or shall: 4.1.3, Page 2 of 3 a. Maintain all pertinent records and documentation. b. Coordinate with the businesses involved to evaluate and operate the FitDeputy Program. 3. The agency will not track an employee’s participation in FitDeputy (e.g., performance records). C. The list of participating fitness facilities is on FitDeputy.com. The following are examples of participating facilities: 1. Rosen Centre Fitness Centre 9840 International Dr. Orlando, FL 32819 2. Rosen Shingle Creek Fitness Center 9939 Universal Blvd. Orla ndo, FL 32819 D. Enrollment and Participation Employees wishing to participate in the FitDeputy Program shall read and follow the instructions at www.FitDeputy.com . Deput ies will need to bring their agency ID to enter the gym facility. E. Participating employees shall conform to the rules of the fitness facilities and wear appropriate athletic/workout clothing and footwear when on the premises. 1. Only eligible employees may u tilize FitDeputy.com facilities, not family members, friends, etc. 2. Eligible employees may workout at a FitDeputy facility during non -duty hours. 3. Agency members who are injured while participating in FitDeputy are not covered by the OCSO workers’ compensation program (e.g., injured while working out at a FitDeputy facility). 4. Participating agency members may be required to provide their own lock, which must be removed after every workout. They may also be required when reporting to certain loca tions for the first time to participate in an equipment orientation. 5. An eligible employee who fails to comply with the provisions of this policy or the rules of the fitness facilities may lose FitDeputy privileges. F. Ethical Considerations 1. The FitDep uty program will in no way compromise the professional judgment and independence of agency members. Participating employees shall adhere to agency policy when addressing any issues concerning FitDeputy facilities or personnel. 4.1.3, Page 3 of 3 2. Agency members who partici pate in t he FitDeputy Program may not be involved in any OCSO decision making process about whether to: a. Include or continue a FitDeputy facility (hotel, etc.) in the off -duty program. b. Enter into a commercial transaction with a FitDeputy facility, such as renting a room for a fee (does not apply to donations). 3.
