ORANGE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE GENERAL ORDER Effective Date: March 2, 2017  Amends - GO 20.1.3 (January 21, 2011) Number: 20.1.3 Distribution: All Personnel Review Month: January Reviewing Authority: OSB / Emergency Management Subject: Inspecti on of Sheriff’s Office Facilities This order consists of the following: 1. Purpose 2. Policy 3. Procedures 1. Purpose The purpose of this policy to provide immediate information to the Orange County Facilities Management Department regarding facilities or safety inspections of structures occupied or controlled by Sheriff's Office employees. 2. Policy All employees who are designated by the Sheriff as being responsible for the operation and maintenance of a facility occupied by Sheriff's Office personnel , shall notify the Facilities Management Department of any facilities or safety inspection, by any local, state or federal regulatory agency, notifying of the results of the inspection and any deficiencies or violations found. 3. Procedures A. If prior notif ication is received at a Sheriff's Office facility regarding an inspection of the facility by a local, state or regulatory agency , the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Facilities Security Unit, and the Orange County Facilities Management Department will be n otified immediately and a Facilities Management staff representative requested to be present at the date and time of the inspection. B. In the event no previous notice is received, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Facilities Security Unit, and the Orange C ounty Facilities Management Department will be notified at the time of the inspecting agency's arrival and advised of the nature of the inspection. C. If an inspection results in no finding of deficiency or violation within the facility, a written report will be provided to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Facilities Security Unit and the Orange County Facilities Management Department, stating the nature of the inspection. Any inspection reports provided by the inspecting agency should be forwarded with th e report. D. If the inspection results in a finding of deficiency or violation, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Facilities Security Unit, and the Orange County Facilities Management Department will be notified immediately by phone. Any written notice 20.1.3, Page 2 of 2 of violation should be electronically transmitted to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Facilities Security Unit. The original notice of violation should then be forwarded to the Orange County Facilities Management Department in the most appropriate fashion. A copy of this report will be forwarded to Orange County Sheriff’s Office Human Resources, Risk Management Section.
