1. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to verify all employees are aware of personnel services and
information available to them as a result of their employment with the agency.
2. Policy
All agency employees are entitled to one or more of the benefits approved by the Sheriff's
Office.
3. Procedures
A. Credit Union
The Orlando Federal Credit Union is operated by a board of directors elected by the
membership. The Credit Union provides financial services for Sheriff's employees
and their families. The Credit Union provides savings accounts, Christmas Club
accounts, loans and other services. To join the Credit Union, full -time personnel
must pe rsonally apply at the Credit Union and open an account. More information
can be obtained from any one of the Credit Union's offices.
B. Payroll Direct Bank Deposit
The Sheriff encourages direct deposit as an alternative to receiving paychecks.
Employees desiring direct deposit should complete the Direct Deposit Authorization
form, available on the agency Portal, and forward the completed form to Fiscal
Management. Employees desiring more information should contact Fiscal
Management.
C. Bonds
Employees may obtain the appropriate form to complete if desiring to purchase U.S.
Savings Bonds from Fiscal Management .
D. Notary Public
Human Resources provides free notary services to all Sheriff's employees.
E. Blood Donor Program
All employees are encouraged to participate in the agency sponsored blood donor

program by giving blood to the Central Florida Blood Bank. The Sheriff's Office has
an account with the Blood Bank which is replenished through donations. All
employees and their immediate families have access to that account. Human
Resources should be contacted for further information.
F. Physical Fitness Facilities
Physical fitness facilities are available to all employees.
G. Employee Assistance Program
The Employee Assistance Program is designed t o assist employees in coping with
personal problems which affect or may affect performance. The EAP provides
professional counseling and referral resource, at no cost to personnel to assist in
clarifying problems and in developing an action plan to resolv e conflicts.
H. Support in Case of Employee Injury or Death
In the event of an employee's injury or death , the agency makes available a number
of different resources to assist the employee or their family.
