RE:
Narcotics Evidence Envelope Tape-Seal Authorization
Narcotics Evidence Envelope, Form 216-336-331, are to be sealed prior to submission
to the Criminalistics Division or Property and Evidence Unit.
Policy references that proper sealing requires metal fasteners to be irreversibly clasped
(e.g. DGO H-03 and Lexipol 802)
The current vendor of the clasps can no longer make the narcotics envelopes. Until a
solution is found, use of the narcotics envelopes without metal clasps is authorized.
Sealing requirements with tape shall be followed (DGO H-03 III. F). Any Department
policy reference to metal clasps is superseded by this tape-seal authorization.
