DEPARTMENTAL GENERAL ORDER A-6 Rev. 10 Jul 96 Index as: Departmental Historian Historian, Departmental DEPARTMENTAL HISTORIAN The purpose of this order is to define the responsibilities of the Departmental Historian. I. DESIGNATION OF THE DEPARTMENTAL HISTORIAN The Community Services Section officer in charge shall be the Departmental Historian. II. DEPARTMENTAL HISTORIAN RESPONSIBILITIES The Departmental Historian shall: A. Collect and record all information relating to the Department or to the administration of criminal justice which has a bearing on the Department. B. Be responsible for the security of historical artifacts stored or displayed in the Police Administration Building. C. Report the status of historical documents and stored or displayed artifacts directly to the Chief of Police. By order of Joseph Samuels, Jr. Chief of Police
