7.0 ARRESTS AND CRIMINAL/LEGAL PROCESS: It is extremely difficult to address
every arrest or criminal/legal process situation and the circumstances that will be encountered by
a police officer, therefore, a police officer should attempt to make quality decisions and always
base arrests, detention and custody on good sound judgment, probable cause, applicable laws and
court decisions and use this procedure as a guideline.
