I. PURPOSE
To establish guidelines governing the justifiable use of force in accordance with
Florida State Statute (FSS) 776.05 and its limitations, and to clearly describe
prohibited activities and the Department’s philosophy of progressive policing
practices emphasizing integrity and respect for the sanctity of life.
