I. PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines and minimum standards
for the use and oversight of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), commonly
known as “drones,” and the associated storage, retrieval and dissemination of
information obtained through the use of an UAV. Implementation of the
Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) will assist law enforcement through
increased situational awareness, enhanced officer safety and investigative
efforts.
