I. RESERVE OFFICERS General Order #20 Effective: 11/24/2020 CFA 2.08 9.06 9.07 10.10 10.14 APPROVED: CHIEF CARLOS NORIEGA POLICY Reserve Officers are under the direction of the Chief of Police or designee and assist in the accomplishment of the Department’s goals and objectives by augmenting the personnel strength of the department, assisting the department at special events, and performing other assignments as directed by the Chief of Police or designee. DEFINITIONS Reserve Police Officer: A reserve police officer is one who has met all pre-employment and training requirements prescribed by the department for full-time officers and the Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission for the designation as Part-Time Law Enforcement Officer under FSS 943.10. This can be paid or unpaid. After training requirements have been met, a Reserve Officer can aid and assist a sworn police officer and shall exercise police authority only while on duty at the agency. A Reserve Police Officer may perform all duties and responsibilities as a full-time police officer and at the direction of a Lieutenant or Sergeant. [CFA 2.08]
