POLICY
The North Bay Village Police Department will utilize job-related, non-discriminating testing
procedures to advance in rank or position the most qualified employees. The rank of
Sergeant is the only promotional position in the Department. Corporal, Lieutenant,
Commander, Major, and Deputy Chief positions are appointed by the Chief of Police.

All civilian positions in North Bay Village are appointments made by the Chief of Police.
There are no promotional examinations to any civilian position. [CFA 11.01]
