2024 MOUNTAIN VIEW POLICE DEPARTMENT SPECIAL OPERATIONS DIVISION TRAINING AND INFORMATION BULLETIN PAGE 1 OF 1 DATE: January 11, 2024 BULLETIN NUMBER: 24 - 01 SUBJECT: MCRT/ Change in Response INFORMATION: As of January 1, 2024, the Santa Clara Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) has changed its operating and call- out policies and procedures. There are two general changes: First, MCRT will continue to deploy teams to conduct follow -up contacts with clients throughout the county, including within the City of Mountain View, but will generally not be requesting PD assistance. Second, MCRT will only assist with emergent, active incidents only upon request by a supervisor (Sergeant or higher), and only if approved by an MCRT manager. FOD/Patrol: Because MCRT will be self -deploying, you may be dispatched to assist MCRT personnel calling to report an incident as an RP or possibly a victim of cases such as a battery, disturbance, threats, etc. BSU/CNT : For a joint response, such as a Hostage/Barricade or Surround and Callout, MCRT may not respond when requested. The PD request must be made to an MCRT Manager who must approve the response to assist. If there are any questions in general or issues with deployments, please reach out to Lt. Espitia.
