Catalytic Converter Theft PC 487(a) Report
Classification
INFORMATION:
To bring consistency to our reporting, all catalytic converter theft reports shall be titled as PC
487(a)- Grand Thefts. Previous reports show that victims are spending in excess of $950 to
replace the catalytic converters and repair the damage often done during the thefts.
VC 10852- Vehicle Tampering is a lesser included crime as it can only be charged as a
misdemeanor.
