MOUNTAIN VIEW POLICE DEPARTMENT SPECIAL SERVICES SECTION TRAINING AND INFORMATION BULLETIN PAGE 1 OF 1 CONFIDENTIAL  FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT USE ONLY 2020 DATE: April 17 , 2020 BULLETIN NUMBER: 20-08 SUBJECT: Decontamination of Patrol Vehicle DATE: April 20, 2020 BULLETIN NUMBER: 20 -08 SUBJECT: Decontamination of Patrol Vehicle INFORMATION: In an effort to reduce any spread of the Corona Virus (Covid -19), patrol vehicles will be sanitized by patrol personnel after the following events occur: - Transportation of a suspect to AIB, Santa Clara County Main Jail, ECH, VMC -EPS, Sobering Station or any other location. - Transportation of any subject such as field -show -ups, courtesy transports, etc. - If a subject/suspect is placed in the vehicle for a temporary detention. PROCEDURE: While wearing a mask, thoroughly spray down the rear compartment of the patrol vehicle using the disinfectant spray. Don gloves prior to wiping down the area using the provided paper towels or a shop cleaning rag. Make sure to dispose of the paper towels and gloves in a garbage can. Do not throw them on your passenger -side floor board. If the vehicle’s spray bottle disinfectant is low exchange it with one of the bottles on the clean carts located near the canine cages or the motor locker. NOTE: It is highly suggested you do not transport anyone in the front passenger compartment. Additionally , touch thermometers are available via the patrol sergeant to check a subject temperature prior to transporting to Santa Clara County Main Jail. Prepared by: Sgt.
