Published with permission by Mountain View Police Department***DRAFT*** Outside Employment at Levi Stadium - 1Outside Employment at Levi Stadium 1041.1 PURPOSE AND SCOPE The purpose of this general order is to define the Mountain View Police Department's policy regarding specific rules and regulations applicable to outside employment with the Santa Clara Police Department related to the Levi Satadium. 1041.2 POLICY Outside employment at Levi Stadium requires prior written approval of the Police Chief as required by section 1040. While working as a City of Santa Clara Police Reserve Officer per the agreement approved by the City of Santa Clara and the City of Mountain View employees will: •Be issued badges and uniforms by the City of Santa Clara; •Be under the supervision of the Santa Clara Police Department; •Use Mountain View Police Department issued equipment including firearms, ballistic vest, duty belts, and Tasers. Communication devices (radio) shall be provided by Santa Clara; •Understand that duties and assignments to the Mountain View Police Department shall have priority over any assignment as a Santa Clara Reserve Officer. Outside employment at Levi Stadium shall not interfere with the employee's regular duties or represent a conflict of interest with operational needs of the Mountain View Police Department. While the Outside Employment policy is not intended to restrict an employee’s abilities to work at Levi Stadium, MVPD overtime needs will take precedence in all matters involving scheduling. In the event of an injury during the course of outside employment at Levi Stadium, employee's must report the injury to their immediate supervisor without delay. Workers compensation and required injury reports will be completed by the City of Santa Clara. If, in the capacity as a Mountain View employee, an employee is on modified duty or unable to work due to a workers compensation related injury, permission to engage in outside employment with similar physical demands as regular City employment shall be suspended until such time that a physician has cleared the employee to return to full unrestricted duty for the City of Mountain View. The Police Chief shall have the discretion to determine whether the outside employment requires similar physical demands. Mountain View employees must report to the Mountain View Police Department any internal investigation, administrative investigation or disciplinary action initiated by the Santa Clara Police Department as a result of employment at Levi Stadium.
