I. BACKGROUND
Criminal investigations conducted by Miami Springs Police Department (MSPD) sworn officers in
the daily performance of duty are a complex, multi-step process that requires employees to be
cognizant of, operate within, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations so as not to
prejudice the case or jeopardize the prosecution of the defendant.
