DEFINITIONS: DIGITAL MULTIMEDIA EVIDENCE (DME) - Digital recordings of images, sounds and associated electronic digital data. FLIGHT OFFICER - An officer who has been trained and certified in the use of the tethered aerostat by a trained member of the Technical Operations Unit. FLIGHT SAFETY OFFICER - The officer responsible for the determination of safe location for lift, mooring, staying underneath the maximum allowed altitude of 500 feet, the emergency recovery of and maintaining control of the tether attached to the aerostat. PROGRAM COORDINATOR - A supervisor designated by the Chief of Police who will be responsible for the management of the tethered aerostat system. TETHERED AEROSTAT - A lighter-than-air aircraft that gains its lift through the use of buoyant gas moored balloon equipped with a camera used as a part of the Department’s safety plan. A tethered aerostat is not an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS). PROCEDURE:
