When a transfer is a change in an employee's unit assignment,
reasonable advance notice as is practicable under the circumstances will
be given. If a transfer is a permanent change in an employee's shift or
days off schedule, the employee shall be notified no less than five
workdays prior to the transfer in order that the employee may arrange for
an orderly change. The five-day notice may be waived by the employee
and it need not be given when unforeseen needs of the Department or
emergency conditions require that temporary changes be made with little
or no advance notice.
