DEFINITIONS:
ALPHA/BRAVO - All sworn police employees will go to 12-hour shifts: BRAVO shift
from 1200 to 0000; ALPHA shift from 0000 to 1200, unless directed otherwise.
CIVIL DISTURBANCE - A violent outbreak of disorder by a group or groups of people
that results in, or that may result in in harm to other persons and/or damage to
property.
COMMAND POST (CP) - A Command Post will be established by the assigned ICS
Commander or designee. The location of the CP will be close enough to the disorder
to provide on-site control, coordination and communications but located in an area
that can be protected and secured. The Public Information Officer(s) (PIO) will be
assigned to the CP as necessary. The Command Post Supervisor will keep the Chief of
Police, or on-duty designee, advised of all major events and pertinent orders.
EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER (EOC) - Will be located based on incident
need.
FIELD FORCE - An organized mobilization of sworn employees in response to a civil
disturbance.
MOBILIZATION - An organized emergency call-up of sworn and/or civilian Department
personnel.
MUTUAL AID - Assistance from other agencies which will be implemented whenever it
becomes apparent there is a projected or actual need to do so. Mutual Aid agreements
are located in the office of the Chief of Police.
