I. Responsibility for Enforcement
A. It is each employee’s responsibility to adhere to all of the rules and
regulations contained in this SOP.
B. The Property and Evidence (PEU) Supervisor or designee is delegated
the responsibility to monitor all violations of policies, rules and regulations
with regard to this SOP or any other Department policies, rules or
regulations It is incumbent and expected that all supervisors in the
Department will monitor and enforce the provisions of this SOP as it
pertains to the parking and storage of police vehicles.
C. When any supervisor observes a violation of any policy, rule or regulation,
the violation will be fully documented on a Violation of Parking Garage
Form 074-A and immediately forwarded to the PEU Supervisor. The
violation memorandum will include the following information:
1. Date;
2. Time;
3. Specific location within the garage;
4. Vehicle description;
5. Involved employee - vehicle owner or driver;
6. Description of the violation; and
7. A photograph of the parking violation.
D. After reviewing the memorandum, the PEU Supervisor will personally
deliver the memorandum regarding the violation to the named employee’s
Division Major.
E. The employee’s Division Major will ensure that all violations of this SOP
are properly addressed with the employee.
