I. Building Maintenance and Repair
A. The City Property Management Department is responsible for the repair
and maintenance of all city buildings, including all buildings that house
Department employees.
B. All employees will report building deficiencies brought to their attention by
the public or observed by the employee, via e-mail, memorandum or
telephone to the Property and Evidence Unit (PEU) Supervisor. The PEU
Supervisor will review the deficiencies and request the appropriate
services or equipment to correct the deficiency.
C. Routine maintenance or service requests, cleanliness and other minor
repairs or requests will be made to the PEU Supervisor.
D. Emergency Maintenance/Service Requests
1. Emergency conditions are considered to exist when safety or health
are endangered, facility security is breached or routine operations
are severely hindered.
2. During normal business hours, requests may be verbally
transmitted to the PEU Supervisor. During other hours, the Shift
Supervisor is to be contacted, who will determine the appropriate
sources of assistance or contact the on-duty PEU Property and
Evidence Technician.
