DEFINITIONS: DETENTION OFFICER - Detention officer will refer to the officer(s) assigned to the MDPA. HOBBLE - Restraining a detainee’s ankles together. HOG-TIED - Restraining a person's wrists together behind their back, their ankles tied together, their knees flexed and then with their restrained ankles tied to their restrained wrists. This practice is strictly prohibited. JUVENILE ASSESSMENT CENTER (JAC) - The location for the delivery of juvenile arrestees. MDPA - The Department’s Main Detainee Processing Area located on the first floor of the Headquarters building. MIAMI-DADE CORRECTIONAL FACILITY (MDCF) - Any facility of the Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation Department Pre-Trial Detention Center, Turner Guilford Knight (TGK) Detention Center, Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC), Women’s Detention Center or any other temporary mass arrest site. 5/19/21; 3/1/23; 10/24/24 STRIP SEARCH - Means having an arrested person remove or arrange some or all of their clothing so as to permit a visual or manual inspection of the genitals; buttocks; anus; breasts, in the case of a female; or undergarments of such person.
