4.1 PURPOSE:
4.1.1 The purpose of this general order is to establish and set guidelines for the use of
force by members of the Margate Police Department.
4.1.2 All members who receive weapons that could be used for lethal or non-lethal
force shall be issued and instructed on GO #4 – Control Measures and Use of Force
before they are authorized to carry a weapon, apprehend fleeing felons or placed in a
position where they may utilize deadly force.
