35.1 AUTHORITY: 35.1.1 The City of Margate is a chartered municipality. In accordance with Article VIII Section 2(b) of the Constitution of the State of Florida and Florida Statute Section 166.021, the city shall have governmental, corporate, and proprietary powers. Through these powers and Florida Statutes Sections 943.10(1) and 790.052(1), department officers have the legal right to enforce the laws of the State of Florida and the ordinances of the City of Margate and make full custodial arrests.
