I. PURPOSE
The purpose of this policy is to provide
guidelines to police officers regarding
acceptable criteria for affecting an off-duty
arrest. It also adopts safety directives and
guidelines for dealing with the carrying of
firearms while in plain clothes or in an offduty status for dealing with an officer’s duty
and responsibility to take action in response
to criminal activity while in an off-duty status.
